the lazy makoti’s lamb and cabbage stew

INGREDIENTS

600g lamb meat

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons oil

1 onion, chopped

1 teaspoon each garlic and ginger

2 teaspoons curry powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 stock cube

1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs

1 cup water

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1.5 cups cabbage, shredded

METHOD

1. Season lamb meat generously with salt and pepper

2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil and fry the meat to brown on each side

3. Remove from pot and set aside

4. Add the rest of the oil and fry onion, garlic, ginger, curry powder and paprika

5. Return the meat to the pot and crumble in the cube and add the mixed herbs. Toss to coat and fry for 5 mins

6. Add water and Worcestershire. Bring to a simmer and allow to stew until meat is tender

7. Add in the cabbage and cook 10-15 mins till wilted and cooked
